Companies like IKEA, Google and Amazon are pouring lots of money into renewable energy. The aim is to produce more energy than they need. For example, the furniture store IKEA thinks by the end of the year its stores will produce more energy that they need. The company has invested around £2 billion pounds in solar and wind energy over the last decade and will continue to invest in renewables. It will offer solar panels to homes in stores across its markets by 2025, ultimately reducing more emissions than it generates. Hence countering the effects of climate change.
